The Wydale 89 Litre Underslung Water Tank is a vehicle-specific water storage tank purpose-built to fit Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) variants of the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter.
Designed for underslung installation, the tank provides a substantial 89 litre capacity without taking up valuable space inside the campervan, making it an excellent option for conversions where internal storage and living space need to be maximised.
This tank can be configured for either fresh water or waste water, allowing the plumbing arrangement to be tailored to the requirements of your conversion.
Vehicle Compatibility
The Wydale 89 litre tank is purpose-built to fit RWD variants of:
- Mercedes-Benz Sprinter – 2006 onwards

Please note: This tank is designed for Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) vehicles only. It is not suitable for FWD variants.
Always check the available space beneath your vehicle before ordering, particularly where additional equipment such as diesel heaters, LPG tanks, steps or other underslung accessories have been installed.
Integrated Connections & Breathers
The Wydale 89 litre tank is supplied with factory-fitted connection points, reducing the amount of additional drilling required when installing your water system.
3 × vents/breathers are fitted into the top sections of the tank, providing dedicated venting points for the installation.
A lower sump incorporates 2 × female threaded connection points:
- 1 × 1 1/4" BSP female connection
- 1 × 1/2" BSP female connection
Positioning these connections within the lower sump provides access towards the lowest part of the tank, making them suitable for configuring the water outlet or drain depending on whether the tank is being used for fresh or waste water.
Optional Vehicle-Specific Fitting Kit
An optional vehicle-specific steel fitting kit is available for securing the tank beneath the Sprinter or Crafter.
The fitting kit is designed specifically around the intended mounting position and provides a secure method of installing the tank underneath the vehicle.
Please note: The fitting kit is not included as standard and must be selected when ordering if required.
Adding Additional Inlets, Outlets & Fittings
Although the tank already incorporates dedicated threaded connections and breathers, additional holes can be added where required for a water inlet, outlet, drain, level sensor or other tank fitting.
When using a conventional tank fitting, remember that a nut and sealing washer normally need to be fitted from inside the tank. Always position the hole somewhere that can be reached internally so the nut and washer can be correctly fitted and tightened.
Alternatively, a Wydale KwiQ fitting can be used where appropriate. These allow an additional connection to be installed without needing access to the inside of the tank to fit a separate nut and washer.
