Downloads & Guides
The SRNE BS48500 Smart Battery Monitor provides accurate monitoring of battery voltage, current and state of charge (SOC) in campervans, motorhomes, caravans, boats and off-grid electrical systems. Featuring an integrated 500A shunt and Bluetooth connectivity, it allows users to monitor battery performance through a compatible mobile app.
Unlike basic voltage-only battery monitors, the BS48500 measures current flowing into and out of the battery to calculate its remaining charge. This provides a more useful indication of available battery capacity, particularly in systems where solar panels, battery chargers and electrical appliances are operating simultaneously.
Compatible with 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V battery systems, the monitor supports lithium and lead-acid batteries. Built-in Bluetooth enables convenient wireless monitoring, while RS485 and CAN communication provide additional integration options for compatible electrical management systems.

Frequently Asked Questions
The SRNE BS48500 is a 500A smart battery monitor designed to measure battery voltage, charging and discharging current, and remaining battery capacity. Its integrated shunt tracks electrical current entering and leaving the battery, providing a more accurate indication of state of charge (SOC) than voltage monitoring alone.
Yes. The SRNE BS48500 supports lithium and lead-acid battery systems, making it suitable for LiFePO4 leisure battery installations in campervans, motorhomes, caravans and boats. The battery capacity and relevant settings must be configured correctly for accurate monitoring.
Yes. The SRNE BS48500 features built-in Bluetooth connectivity, allowing battery information to be viewed wirelessly using a compatible mobile app. This provides convenient access to battery voltage, current and state of charge without requiring a separate wired display.
Yes. The BS48500 is compatible with 12V, 24V, 36V and 48V battery systems, making it suitable for conventional 12V campervan and motorhome leisure battery installations as well as larger off-grid electrical systems.
Yes. The monitor can track battery current when charging from solar panels, DC-DC chargers, mains battery chargers or other charging sources. It measures the net current entering or leaving the battery rather than monitoring the individual output of each charging device.
The BS48500 is installed in the battery negative circuit, with the system's charging sources and electrical loads connected so their current passes through the integrated shunt. It should be mounted in a dry, protected location, following the manufacturer's installation instructions.
The SRNE BS48500 has a 500A rated current capacity, making it suitable for monitoring battery systems with substantial charging and discharging currents. The installation must be correctly sized, with suitable cables, connections and circuit protection.
Yes. In addition to Bluetooth, the BS48500 features RS485 and CAN communication interfaces, including RV-C protocol support. Integration with other equipment depends on the communication protocols and compatibility of the connected devices.
