Frequently Asked Questions
A Bullfinch External LPG BBQ Point allows you to connect compatible outdoor gas appliances directly to your campervan or motorhome's onboard LPG supply. This eliminates the need to carry separate gas bottles for your appliances, saving valuable storage space while making outdoor cooking quicker, safer and more convenient. The quick-release connection also provides a neat, professional installation.
Yes. The Bullfinch External Gas BBQ Point is supplied complete with the genuine quick-release hose connector and fixing screws. Simply connect an 8mm bore LPG hose between the supplied connector and your BBQ or gas appliance.
The rear gas inlet is designed for 8mm copper gas pipe using a standard compression fitting supplied with the unit. The quick-connect hose supplied with the BBQ point accepts 8mm internal diameter LPG hose, which is secured using suitable crimp or hose clips before connecting to your appliance.
Installation requires a 60mm diameter hole through the side of your caravan, campervan or motorhome. The unit is secured using the supplied fixing screws and should be sealed around the mounting flange using a suitable automotive sealant to help prevent water ingress. The gas inlet connects using an 8mm copper gas pipe with the supplied compression nut and olive.
All LPG installations should be carried out by a suitably
qualified Gas Safe registered engineer or other competent person.
The Bullfinch BBQ Point is compatible with most 30mbar low-pressure LPG systems fitted to modern campervans, caravans and motorhomes. It can be connected to onboard LPG cylinders, refillable systems such as Gaslow, underslung LPG tanks and fixed gas installations, provided they supply the correct operating pressure and are installed in accordance with current gas regulations.
The supplied connector simply pushes into the gas outlet and locks into position with a push-and-turn action. Once correctly connected, gas is allowed to flow to your appliance. When the connector is removed, the gas supply automatically shuts off, providing an additional level of safety. This means no connector equals no gas flow, helping prevent accidental gas release.
No. The BBQ Point connects to your vehicle's existing regulated LPG supply and does not include a gas regulator. Your campervan or motorhome should already have a suitable 30mbar gas regulator fitted as part of its LPG system. Appliances connected to the BBQ point should not have an additional regulator fitted between the BBQ point and the appliance, unless specifically required by the appliance manufacturer.
Yes. We stock genuine Bullfinch replacement quick-release connectors, allowing you to leave a connector fitted to multiple appliances such as a BBQ, camping stove or patio heater. This makes changing between appliances quick and convenient without having to remove and refit hose tails each time.
