68ltr VW Transporter Spare Wheel Water Tank for T5 / T6.1 / 4Motion 2003-Present

The Wydale 68 Litre VW Transporter Spare Wheel Water Tank is a vehicle-specific underslung water storage tank designed for Volkswagen Transporter T5, T6 and T6.1 vans from 2003 onwards, including 4Motion models.

Unlike the Wydale 69 litre Transporter tank that mounts in front of the spare wheel, this 68 litre version is specifically shaped to fit in place of the vehicle's spare wheel. This makes it particularly useful for conversions where the space normally occupied by the spare wheel can be used to provide a substantial 68 litre nominal water capacity without taking up valuable room inside the campervan.

Manufactured by Wydale Plastics, the tank measures approximately 670mm long × 650mm wide × 275mm high and weighs approximately 7kg.

Please note: The tank occupies the space normally used by the vehicle's spare wheel, so the spare wheel cannot remain in its original underslung position when the tank is installed.

Pre-Drilled Inlets & Outlets

The Wydale technical drawing confirms that the tank incorporates 2 × 1/2" BSPP threaded connection points, positioned on opposite sides of the tank.

These provide convenient connection points for incorporating the tank into the vehicle's water system.

Optional Vehicle-Specific Fitting Kit

A dedicated vehicle-specific mounting kit is available for securing the tank in the spare wheel position.

Please note: The fitting kit is not included as standard and must be selected when ordering if required.

Adding Additional Inlets, Outlets & Breathers

Additional connections can be installed if your particular water system requires a filler inlet, breather/overflow, additional outlet, drain, level sensor or other tank fitting.

When using a conventional tank fitting, remember that a nut and sealing washer normally need to be fitted from inside the tank. Always make sure the proposed position can be reached internally through the access lid before drilling.

Alternatively, a suitable Wydale KwiQ fitting can be used where appropriate. This allows an additional connection to be installed without needing access inside the tank to secure a separate nut and washer.
