The Wydale 57 Litre Opaque Wheel Arch Water Tank is a compact fresh water storage tank designed and manufactured by Wydale Plastics for installation around the wheel arch in campervans, motorhomes, van conversions and pick-ups.

Its wheel arch profile makes efficient use of otherwise difficult-to-use space while providing a useful 57 litre nominal water capacity. At just 750mm long, it is particularly useful for conversions where a larger wheel arch tank would take up too much space.

Manufactured from tough rotationally moulded polyethylene, the tank is designed for long-term use in leisure vehicle water systems. The natural opaque finish allows the approximate water level inside the tank to be visually checked, making it particularly useful for fresh water installations.

The tank measures approximately 750mm long × 355mm wide × 500mm high and incorporates a 5" internal plain, non-vented access lid.

Integrated Connections & Mounting Points

The Wydale 57 litre tank is manufactured with 11 × M8 threaded inserts moulded into the tank, providing multiple secure mounting points.

It also incorporates a 1/2" BSP outlet, providing a ready-made connection point for your fresh water system.

Optional Fitting Kit

An optional Wydale WAKF57 fitting kit is available separately and can be selected when ordering if required.

The fitting kit includes steel angle mounting brackets together with M8 stainless steel fixings and washers, designed to utilise the tank's integrated M8 mounting points.

Please note: The fitting kit is not included as standard and must be selected when ordering if required.

Adding Additional Inlets, Outlets & Breathers

Additional holes can be drilled into the tank to accommodate your chosen water inlet, outlet, breather, drain, level sensor or other tank fittings.

When deciding where to drill, remember that conventional tank fittings normally use a nut and sealing washer on the inside of the tank. You must therefore make sure the chosen position can be reached through the tank's access lid so that the internal nut and washer can be fitted and tightened.

Alternatively, a Wydale KwiQ fitting can be used where suitable. These fittings can be installed without needing to reach inside the tank to secure a separate internal nut and washer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Wydale specifically designs the 57 litre wheel arch tank for use in vans and pick-ups, and its compact wheel arch shape makes it particularly suitable for campervan and motorhome conversions.

The tank measures approximately 750mm long × 355mm wide × 500mm high and weighs approximately 6.5kg.

Yes. The tank incorporates a 1/2" BSP outlet. Wydale's current technical drawing identifies this as a 1/2" BSP × 15mm outlet.

Yes. There are 11 × M8 inserts moulded into the tank, providing dedicated mounting points for installation.

Yes. Additional holes can be drilled to suit your installation. When using conventional tank fittings, remember that you will normally need to reach the back of the fitting from inside the tank to tighten the nut and sealing washer. Make sure the proposed position is within reach of the 5" access lid before drilling.

A Wydale KwiQ fitting can be used where appropriate. This type of fitting avoids the need to reach inside the tank to secure a separate internal nut and washer.

For this tank, I would recommend a 475mm water level sensor. With an overall tank height of 500mm, this gives a suitable sensing length while retaining clearance. Check the exact sensor mounting position and internal clearance before drilling.

No. Wydale specifies the 57 litre wheel arch tank as non-baffled.

Both versions have the same 57 litre capacity, dimensions and connection arrangement. The black tank helps restrict light entering the tank, while the natural opaque version allows the approximate water level to be visually checked through the tank wall.
