40ltr Black Underslung Fresh Water Tank

The Wydale 40 Litre Black Underslung Fresh Water Tank is a universal low-profile water storage tank designed for campervans, motorhomes and van conversions.

Unlike vehicle-specific tanks, this model is designed as a generic underslung tank, making it suitable for a wide range of vehicles where the available space beneath the van suits its dimensions.

With a nominal 40 litre capacity and dimensions of approximately 750mm long × 370mm wide × 170mm high, the low-profile design provides useful onboard fresh water storage without taking up valuable space inside the vehicle.

Manufactured by Wydale Plastics from WRAS approved polyethylene, the tank is suitable for the storage of potable drinking water and is therefore ideal for campervan fresh water systems.

Moulded Inlets, Outlets & Breathers

The tank has been designed with multiple moulded plumbing connection points, allowing the water system to be configured to suit the installation.

It incorporates:

• 1 × 1/2" BSP moulded inlet
• 3 × 3/4" BSP moulded outlet positions
• 1 of the 3/4" outlet positions is located within a sump
• 2 × moulded brass vents/breathers

This provides a choice of three outlet positions, allowing the installer to select the most suitable connection for the particular water system. The sump outlet is particularly useful where maximum water draw-off is required.

Important: The BSP connection points are moulded into the tank but are supplied undrilled as standard, so the required connection can be opened to suit the installation.

Integrated Mounting Points

The tank incorporates 8 × brass M8 moulded threaded inserts, providing dedicated fixing points for securing the tank beneath the vehicle.

These integrated mounting points allow suitable brackets to be attached without drilling into the body of the tank itself.

Universal Underslung Installation

This is a universal tank rather than a vehicle-specific design, so it can be fitted to a wide range of campervans and van conversions where sufficient space is available.

Always check the 750 × 370 × 170mm overall dimensions against the underside of your particular vehicle before ordering.

Other equipment including diesel heaters, LPG tanks, exhaust components, spare wheels, steps, batteries and other underslung accessories can affect the available installation space.

Adding Additional Inlets, Outlets & Fittings

Although the tank already incorporates several moulded plumbing connection points, additional holes can be added if your installation requires another inlet, outlet, drain, level sensor or other tank fitting.

When using a conventional tank fitting, remember that a nut and sealing washer normally need to be fitted from inside the tank. Make sure the proposed position can be reached internally through the access lid before drilling.

Alternatively, a suitable Wydale KwiQ fitting can be used where appropriate. This allows an additional connection to be installed without needing to reach inside the tank to secure a separate nut and washer.
