The Wydale 31 Litre VW T7 & Ford Transit Custom Underslung Water Tank is a compact vehicle-specific water tank designed for installation underneath the Ford Transit Custom V710 (2023 onwards) and Volkswagen Transporter T7 (2025 onwards).
Designed specifically to fit beneath the offside of the vehicle, the tank provides a useful 31 litre water capacity without taking up valuable space inside the campervan. This makes it ideal for conversions where maximising interior storage and living space is important.
Manufactured by Wydale Plastics from WRAS approved polyethylene, the tank is suitable for use as part of a potable fresh water system. It measures approximately 1195mm long × 158mm wide × 265mm high and weighs approximately 4.6kg.
Vehicle Compatibility
This Wydale 31 litre underslung tank is specifically designed for:
- Ford Transit Custom V710 – 2023 onwards
- Volkswagen Transporter T7 – 2025 onwards
- Offside underslung installation
Important: Wydale states that this tank will not fit vehicles with twin sliding doors or left-hand-drive vehicles.
Always check the available space beneath your vehicle before ordering, particularly where diesel heaters, LPG tanks, steps, auxiliary batteries or other underslung equipment have already been installed.
Pre-Drilled Inlets, Outlets & Vents
The tank is supplied with factory-prepared plumbing connections, reducing the amount of drilling required during installation.
It incorporates:
- 3 × 1/2" BSP outlets, supplied opened/drilled
- 2 × 20mm vents
Unlike some Wydale tanks where the moulded connections are supplied closed, the three 1/2" BSP connections on this tank are specifically stated by Wydale as being supplied opened and ready for connection.
Dedicated Level Sensor Position
The tank incorporates a dedicated recessed area for fitting a water level sensor. This allows the sender to be positioned without unnecessarily increasing the overall installation height of the tank.
Wydale's technical drawing clearly identifies the level sensor recess within the tank design.
Optional Vehicle-Specific Fitting Kit
A complete vehicle-specific fitting kit is available separately for installation of the tank.
Please note: The fitting kit is not included as standard and must be selected when ordering if required.
Adding Additional Connections
Although the tank already incorporates three opened 1/2" BSP connections and two vents, additional holes can be added if your particular installation requires another inlet, outlet, drain or other tank fitting.
When using a conventional tank fitting, remember that a nut and sealing washer normally need to be fitted from inside the tank. Always position the hole somewhere that can be reached internally so the fitting can be correctly tightened.
Alternatively, a Wydale KwiQ fitting can be used where appropriate. This type of fitting can be installed without needing to reach inside the tank to secure a separate nut and washer.
