Frequently Asked Questions

A gas drop out floor vent provides a permanent ventilation opening through the floor of a caravan, motorhome or campervan. It allows heavier-than-air LPG gases, such as propane and butane, to escape safely in the event of a leak.

LPG is heavier than air and will collect at the lowest point of a vehicle if a leak occurs. A correctly installed drop out vent helps the gas escape beneath the vehicle, improving safety and helping to meet LPG installation requirements.

Drop out vents should be installed through the vehicle floor at the lowest point of the gas locker or LPG cylinder compartment, following the appliance or vehicle manufacturer's recommendations and any relevant gas installation standards.

The short tail design makes installation easier where floor depth is limited while still providing effective permanent ventilation beneath the vehicle.
