40ltr Universal Water Tank

The Wydale 40 Litre Black Universal Water Tank is a compact, low-profile water storage tank suitable for campervans, motorhomes, caravans, van conversions and other leisure vehicle applications.

Unlike a vehicle-specific tank, its simple rectangular design allows it to be installed in a wide variety of locations where its dimensions are suitable. At only 160mm high, it is particularly useful for installations where vertical space is limited, including beneath seating, beds, cupboards and other storage areas.

Manufactured in the UK by Wydale Plastics from durable polyethylene, the tank provides a nominal 40 litre capacity and measures approximately 750mm long × 370mm wide × 160mm high. Wydale's technical drawing specifies a typical wall thickness of approximately 5.1mm.

The tank incorporates a large 5" internal unvented access lid, allowing access to the inside of the tank for cleaning, inspection and installation of additional fittings.

Integrated Outlet

The tank is manufactured with a 1/2" BSP threaded insert, providing a convenient connection point for your water system.

Wydale's technical drawing identifies this as a 1/2" BSP × 15mm insert positioned towards one end of the tank.

Universal Installation

This is a universal water tank and is not designed around one particular make or model of vehicle.

Its compact 750 × 370 × 160mm dimensions make it suitable for a wide range of campervan and motorhome conversions, provided there is sufficient space to accommodate and securely mount the tank.

Always measure the intended installation area carefully before ordering.

Adding Additional Inlets, Outlets & Breathers

Additional holes can be drilled into the tank to accommodate your chosen water inlet, outlet, breather, drain, level sensor or other tank fittings.

When deciding where to drill, remember that conventional tank fittings normally use a nut and sealing washer on the inside of the tank. You must therefore make sure the chosen position can be reached through the tank's access lid so that the internal nut and washer can be fitted and tightened.

Alternatively, a Wydale KwiQ fitting can be used where suitable. These fittings can be installed without needing to reach inside the tank to secure a separate internal nut and washer.
