58 Litre Underfloor Fresh Water Tank Kit (Backfill System) – VW Crafter 2006–2018

This 58-litre underfloor fresh water tank kit (Backfill System) is purpose-engineered for the VW Crafter 2006–2018.
The backfill configuration allows the tank to be filled via your internal cold-water plumbing, making it perfect for stealth builds or vans where you want a clean exterior with no external filler cap.

Designed to mount neatly along the driver’s-side sill—just behind the exhaust—the tank takes full advantage of the Crafter’s spacious sill cavity, providing a secure, space-efficient installation without reducing ground clearance.

Locating Instructions — VW Crafter 2006–2018 (Backfill)

Installs lengthways along the driver’s-side outer sill

 Positioned behind the exhaust box and ahead of the rear axle

Secured using the included universal mounting straps

System Routing

Backfill line connects to the interior cold-water plumbing using the supplied isolation valve

Breather hose must be routed upward through the floor to prevent siphon or vacuum lock

Ensure adequate clearance from:

Exhaust heat and routing

 Factory heat shielding

Brake & fuel lines

Handbrake cable

Wiring looms

The Crafter’s sill structure provides ample space for a clean install while maintaining excellent ground clearance.

Tank is leak-tested; minor moisture on arrival is normal

Clean thoroughly before filling with drinking water
